Meet Melodie

Hi, I’m Melodie Barton, owner of Cottonwood Creek Herbals.  I started the company over 10 years ago because I wanted to offer natural soaps and lotions as a better alternative to off-the-shelf products.

I am a certified Master Herbalist, certified Iridologist, natural soap maker, and lover of all things natural.  I have enjoyed making natural soaps and body products, creating something unique with my personal signature.  All of our products are handcrafted by me right here in Kansas.

I am a graduate of Rosemary Gladstar’s Science and Art of Herbalism program.  I am a Master Herbalist graduate of The School of Natural Healing and a Certified Iridologist from the International Institute of Iridology.

Having always been drawn to plants and wildlife all my life, I never feel closer to God than when I am walking through the woods.  I love anything organic, and often find myself daydreaming about walks in the forest.

I grew up in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina.  My Father and Grandfather both loved the outdoors and taught me the beauty and joy of nature. They would often use plants to help us children with ailments.  I remember vividly going with my Grandfather to dig “Yellowroot” (Goldenseal) to help my brother’s digestive issues and tagging along with my Father and Mother to pick “Poke Salad” (Poke) in the spring.  My Great-Great Grandmother was half Cherokee Indian and had a love affair of her own with plants.

Plants draw me like music draws a musician.  I LOVE them and have developed all my products to show you how they can benefit every area of your life.
