We fill our lotions with things that are dear to our hearts…high quality ingredients, therapeutic grade essential oils, and medicinal plants. And the feel (AND SMELL!) of them is simply amazing. It’s as if your skin and your nose instantly know that this is wonderful for you. You can sense it. When you try it, you will know.
Our joyful oil of choice in our lotions is Shea Butter. Shea comes from the seed of the Shea (Karite) tree, native to Egypt. A few lovely facts about Shea Butter…it has anti-inflammatory properties making it very useful for people who have acne prone skin, on its own it has an SPF of 6, and it penetrates EVERY layer of skin, which testifies to its amazing power to deeply moisturize.
Our next amazing super-oil of choice…Coconut Oil. Coconut Oil is another extremely useful oil for the skin. It, along with Shea, gives our lotion a nice, thick, creamy consistency. Coconut Oil is choc-full of vitamins and very nourishing to the skin.
Next up in our line-up of amazing oils is Apricot Kernel Oil. This is a one of the lightest oils to use on the skin. It is absorbed quickly and will not leave a greasy feel. It also acts as a “conduit” to help essential oils pass into skin layers so they can be most useful. This is so wonderful because our lotions are FULL of essential oils!
The therapeutic grade essential oils we use each have their own list of incredibly medicinal and helpful properties. These wonderful joy-bringers are the only “fragrances” we use at Cottonwood Creek Herbals. Sometimes we combine these oils for their smell, sometimes for their medicinal properties, and often for both reasons. For example, our Sweet Orange lotion has an amazing smell, but is also beneficial to cell renewal as well as helpful with stretch marks.
No matter which natural lotion you try, you are in for a smell, feel, and likely JOY experience that will wow you. These lotions are like no other.
